Henry County Jail Records Path
The official Henry County Jail page does not publish a county-hosted roster page in the research materials reviewed. Its inmate and offender search section points readers to Indiana SAVIN and VINELink for Indiana county jail and IDOC searches, with the county's own warning that not all jails take part in SAVIN. That warning matters for Henry County inmate records because an empty online result should not be treated as proof that the person is not in custody.
Use a fallback chain. Start with the county-linked custody search tools. If the name does not appear, call Henry County Jail inmate information at 765-529-5201. For records that are not online, use the Henry County Sheriff's APRA/request process. For formal charges after booking, search MyCase rather than relying on the jail record alone. For booking-photo questions, the narrower Henry County jail mugshots page deals with photo access and APRA requests.
The Henry County Jail Division directory is the most direct county contact source for the jail line and command staff. It lists the Jail Division at the same sheriff and detention center address used by the county directory, and it names the inmate information line separately from the sheriff law-enforcement division phone.
The county's jail page is the source for the local search path, not a complete database by itself. Its role is to identify the jail, point to SAVIN and VINELink, and link the official inmate handbook.
The official Henry County Jail page shows the county's own jail overview and search links.
Because the page sends users to statewide tools, Henry County inmate records need both the jail contact route and the state search route.
Use Henry County Custody Search
A Henry County custody search should be run with more than one clue when possible. Last name is the usual starting point, but the search improves if a first name, cause number, offender ID, or date of birth is known. Name spelling can vary, and a person may be booked under a legal name that differs from the name used by family or news reports.
- Open the county-linked Indiana SAVIN offender search or the current VINE Indiana interface.
- Search by last name first. Add first name only if the results are too broad or the name is common.
- Try the case or cause number path if court paperwork or MyCase gives a cause number.
- If SAVIN or VINELink does not locate the person, call Henry County Jail inmate information at 765-529-5201.
- If the person was sentenced to prison, switch to the IDOC incarcerated search.
- If the matter may be federal or immigration custody, use the BOP or ICE tools described below.
INjail Public Access can also be checked as a statewide public jail portal, but Henry County participation was not confirmed in the research. Treat it as a possible extra search, not the official local roster. A no-result search in INjail should be followed by the county jail phone line or a sheriff records request.
Henry County Roster Search Fields
Henry County does not provide a confirmed county-hosted roster field set. The most relevant public search fields come from Indiana SAVIN and INjail Public Access. SAVIN is the path linked by the county jail page. INjail is a separate Indiana public access portal for participating county jails, with Henry County participation not confirmed during research.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Last Name | Text | Required for name search | Main SAVIN name-search field; start here. |
| First Name | Text | Optional | Use to narrow common names. |
| Case / Cause Number | Text | Required in that mode | Use an exact court or case identifier if known. |
| Offender ID | Text | Required in that mode | Best when an exact ID has been provided by an agency. |
| County | Dropdown | Optional in INjail | County filter is available in INjail, but Henry County use was not confirmed. |
| Booked Between | Date range | Optional in INjail | Can narrow recent booking windows in the INjail portal. |
The Indiana SAVIN offender search screenshot shows the state search modes used for name, case, and offender ID lookups.
Those search modes explain why a cause number or offender ID can help when a basic name search misses a Henry County jail record.
Henry County Inmate Profile Fields
No official Henry County roster profile was confirmed, so the field list should be read as a sample inventory from INjail application labels and IDOC locator records. Do not assume that every Henry County inmate record will show each item online. Bond, housing, and mugshot fields were not confirmed for a Henry County public profile.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Name and INjail ID | Person name and portal identifier where the INjail profile is available. |
| Age, race, sex, ethnicity | Basic identification fields captured from INjail labels. |
| Height, weight, hair, eyes | Physical descriptors used to help distinguish people with similar names. |
| County and booking number | The county tied to the jail record and booking identifier where shown. |
| Booked On and Arrest Date | Dates tied to jail intake or arrest, depending on portal field use. |
| Arresting agency and officer | Agency and officer fields shown in the INjail label inventory. |
| Released On | Release date field, which may be blank if release has not occurred or is not posted. |
| Holds and cases | Separate sections for other legal holds or case records where the portal displays them. |
Booking means the jail intake event after arrest or court commitment. A hold is a notice that another case, warrant, agency, or court order may affect release. Classification means the jail's security and housing review, not the person's guilt or innocence.
Henry County Jail Versus IDOC
Henry County Jail and New Castle Correctional Facility are separate systems in the same county. The jail is operated by the Henry County Sheriff's Office and is the local custody point for county arrests, court commitments, and short-term jail custody. New Castle Correctional Facility is an Indiana Department of Correction adult male state prison, privately managed by GEO under an IDOC contract. A person arrested in Henry County may start at the jail, then move to IDOC only after a state-prison sentence or other transfer into state custody.
| Custody Type | Where to Look | Use This For |
|---|---|---|
| Henry County jail custody | SAVIN/VINELink, jail phone, sheriff APRA | Local jail custody, booking status, jail records. |
| Indiana state prison | IDOC incarcerated search | Sentenced IDOC prisoners and facility location. |
| Federal prison | BOP inmate locator | Federal sentenced custody, register number, release date, location. |
| Immigration detention | ICE ODLS | ICE detainee lookup by A-number or exact biographical search. |
The IDOC locator returns fields such as DOC number, date of birth, gender, race, facility location, sentence date, cause number, county of conviction, earliest possible release date, and projected release date. BOP results are narrower and usually show name, register number, age, race, sex, release date, and location. ICE ODLS is a detainee locator, not a county jail roster.
Note: BOP and ICE searches do not replace the Henry County Jail information line for local jail custody.
Henry County Jail Contact Card
When online lookup tools do not answer the custody question, contact the Henry County Jail directly or use the sheriff records path. The same Ron Lampe Way location is used for the Sheriff's Office and Detention Center in the official county directory.

Henry County Booking Records
Henry County publishes limited current detail about booking timing and roster refresh timing. Older official handbook material says cash in a person's possession at book-in is placed into the inmate commissary account, while checks are listed as personal property unless cashed. It also describes issued items such as an inmate ID, commissary account number, phone ID number, uniform pending classification, bedding, towel, shower shoes, toilet paper, and an entrance pack. Because the current handbook PDF is scanned in the research environment, operational details from the older handbook should be checked against the current handbook before relying on them for a visit or deposit.
Formal charges and court dates should be checked in MyCase after booking. A roster or custody record may reflect an arrest or hold, but the prosecutor can file different charges, amend charges, decline charges, or dismiss charges after review. For that pathway, use the court-focused page on court records after a jail arrest.
Henry County Jail Visitation
The current county jail page does not publish a public visitation calendar or remote-video vendor. Older official handbook material describes non-contact electronic visits, with jail visits listed as about 30 minutes and annex visits as about 50 minutes. It also says visitors must arrive early, sign in, and show identification. Treat the table as handbook-based local detail that should be confirmed with the jail before travel.
| Facility / Unit | Day | Time / Detail |

| Henry County Jail E & F Block | Tuesday | 0800-1200 |

| Henry County Jail C, D & I Block | Saturday | 1430-2000 |
| Henry County Jail H Block | Saturday | 1700-2000 |
Attorney and clergy visits are described separately in handbook material and may occur at reasonable times with prior arrangements, except during meals, with identification required. Visitation areas and phones are described as audio and video monitored.
Request Henry County Inmate Records
Indiana's Access to Public Records Act is the records path for jail booking records, incident reports, booking photos, and other sheriff records that are not posted online. Indiana Code 5-14-3-5 requires release of certain arrest, summons, jail, lock-up, and daily-log information, including identifying information, reason held, received and release times, and bail or bond if fixed. Indiana Code 5-14-3-4 allows some law-enforcement investigatory records to be withheld at agency discretion.
Use the Henry County Sheriff APRA/request form when an online search does not give the needed record. The form lists mail, email, and fax submission channels. The sheriff research also found concrete fee notes: state crash reports are listed at $5 each, body or car camera video can be up to $150 per camera, 911 audio is listed at $30 per recording, and standard reports have no current fee listed.
Henry County Mail and Money
Handbook material gives the mailing format as inmate name and block, care of Henry County Jail, 1033 Ron Lampe Way, New Castle, IN 47362. Incoming mail must include the sender's full name and address. Mail may be opened and inspected for safety, while legal mail is opened and inspected in the inmate's presence and not read. Mail for people no longer housed is returned to sender.
Commissary deposit methods in the handbook material include a lobby kiosk in the sheriff's office lobby, JailATM online deposits, and money orders through U.S. Mail payable to the inmate name. The handbook material lists a $3.00 kiosk service fee per transaction. It also says commissary funds may be used for purchases, phone time, medical services, haircut, bond, bond fee, court-ordered fines and costs, property damage, restitution, and release of funds at release.
Note: Confirm current custody, housing, deposit rules, and visit eligibility with Henry County Jail before sending funds or traveling.
